BYD Auto Industry Company Limited (hereafter referred to as "BYD") announced a collaboration with Al-Futtaim, a renowned distributor in the United Arab Emirates, to help the country's green travel growth. The signing ceremony was place in conjunction with the "Future Mobility Day" event at Ain Dubai Plaza, Bluewaters, Dubai, UAE.
At the "Future Mobility Day" event, two BYD models, the BYD Han and the BYD ATTO 3, were introduced. Furthermore, further information will be disclosed by the end of this year with the goal of launching four models (EVs and plug-in hybrids) in the United Arab Emirates. A specific product launch is already planned for this year's third quarter.
"BYD has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, safe, and truly revolutionary new energy vehicle experiences, but our commitment to sustainability goes beyond that. The climate change agenda is central to BYD, and we have demonstrated our commitment to addressing it through our 'Cool the Earth by 1°C' efforts," said AD Huang, General Manager, BYD Middle East & North Africa, during the event.
"As of February 2023, we have reduced carbon emissions by almost 29 million tonnes, and this trend will continue as we introduce better, more zero-carbon solutions into the UAE. Al-Futtaim was an easy option for BYD's partner in the area due to their reputation for first-rate customer service and high-caliber goods," he continued.
BYD is the world's largest manufacturer of new energy cars and power batteries, as well as the only manufacturer of New Energy cars (NEVs) that has developed its own powertrain systems, power batteries, drive-motors, and motor controller systems. BYD sold about 1.86 million new energy cars worldwide in 2022 alone. BYD had served over 3.7 million new energy car consumers globally.
Al-Futtaim, founded in the 1930s, is one of the most diverse and advanced privately held regional firms based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
